As you’ll are aware Google has decided to call it a day for its Google Reader, the service will be discontinued from the 1st of July 2013. But for all the geeks who are caught by surprise, here is a list of 10 alternatives to Google Reader:

  • NetVibes : Created in 2005 by Tariq Krim and now owned by Dassault Systèmes.  Ensures real-time monitoring and keywords via Dashboard.
  • Flipboard : Social magazine format reader for Android and iOS.
  • Feedly : For Chrome, iOS and Android.
  • FeedDemon : RSS for Windows.
  • Newsblur : A new intelligent reader worth trying out that allows to easily import content from Google Reader.
  • Feedreader : RSS and atom reader for Windows.
  • Taptu : A visual interface works on the web, Android, Blackberry and iOS.
  • Reeder : Apple iPhone, iPad and Mac.
  • Pulse : Application for web, iOS and Android.
  • Google Currents : A nice visual aggregator for Android / iPhone / iPad (hopes this does not close as well)
